You create the perfect content on your site, click the “Publish” button, and then sit and wait for the traffic of your site to grow rapidly, right? The only problem is that for some reason it remains the same. After all, the most difficult thing about content marketing is getting people to read your content, share it with others, and actively discuss it in the comments. For this reason, most new blogs are not successful. For this reason, we have prepared nine strategies to get your content read and shared.

#1 Show readers they can learn something

Where is the benefit? People like to read articles that can teach them something. Use the headline to tell readers what they will learn from reading your article. People pay attention to headlines that start with “How to …” and contain the word “List.” Use this idea even if it seems to be unoriginal. Also, if you have specific data to argue your point in the article, you can use it in the headline.

#2 Prefer readers to search engines

Prefer readers to search engines. Using keywords in headings to optimize a site is a bad idea because the text becomes empty and boring. Write for people, not for search engines. If you write about things that are extremely important for readers right now, the chances that it will be read are much greater.

#3 Focus on mistakes and curiosity

It is human nature to make mistakes, so put in your headline that you teach people from your own experience. This can attract a large audience, as popular articles often contain the phrase “most common mistakes.” Also, by nature, people are very curious, so write your headline in the form of a question that will interest potential readers.

#4 Do not overload your website with social networking icons

The easiest way to get readers to share your content is to include the “share” buttons directly in the articles. You can use different plugins, such as Sharebar. However, remember that if your readers have too many options, they may not take advantage of any of them. Stop on three (perhaps even two) buttons. There is no need to burden your article with an array of social network buttons. Choose the ones that your target audience most often uses.

#5 Organize contests

With fairly simple software, such as Contest Domination, you can organize various contests and bring in many readers through Facebook without extra advertising costs. Participate in all of this yourself. You must admit that it is ugly to live on someone else’s initiative, without offering anything in return. To successfully promote your content on social networks, you must also be active. For example, repost and retweet posts of other users who do not relate directly to the product or service that you are advertising.

#6 Collect email addresses

Every time users visit your blog, offer them a free ebook in exchange for their email address. Then, when you post new content, you can always notify people on your list. This tactic is quite effective. In addition, remember that subscribers of your blog or site tend to distribute your content in social networks 3.9 times more often than those who are not subscribed.

#7 Focus on quality, not quantity

I managed to find out that being immersed in a topic and writing a quality article attracts much more traffic than writing short and superficial content. Complex information can be made easier to assimilate using infographics. Tell stories – if you manage to turn your article into a little story, it is much more likely to be shared and discussed.

#8 Do not let your readers fall asleep

Do you remember the times when you had to write essays at school? It was hardly a pleasure, but I bet you don’t remember most of the topics you wrote on. This happens because the essays were boring, and you were feeling sleepy. By the way, if you still need to write boring essays, you can get help from an anonymous essay writer.

Make sure your content is written in a way that resembles a dialogue. Use the words “you” and “I” when creating your content, as this will create the illusion of immediate feedback.

#9 Be unique and follow the trends

Although this advice may sound too simple, this is probably one of the most difficult things. Creating unique articles on topics that have not been discussed to death is a rather laborious process. But if you manage to write such content, consider that you are a lucky person. Also, one of the easiest ways to attract thousands of visitors to your site is to write articles on “sharp” topics. Current topics can be found using Google Trends. If you manage to create content on a relevant topic in the first 30 minutes of it being “in trend,” you will be able to attract many readers.

Even if you follow all the tips described here, it’s not likely that thousands of users will immediately visit your site. However, after three months, you will be able to see significant changes in traffic statistics. Content marketing is by no means a short-term investment. Usually it starts to pay off after half a year, and sometimes even a year. You just need to believe in success and invest your strength and energy into it.
